Eliminated Besiktas seeking revenge versus Bratislava

Turkey’s Besiktas eye Thursday’s Slovan Bratislava match for retribution after losing the reverse fixture 4-2 in the UEFA Europa League Group K.

Besiktas can no longer qualify for the last 32 stage in the Europa League as the team has been eliminated from the tournament, after losing to Braga 3-1 on Nov. 7.

The Istanbul club bottomed the Group K as they lost all their four games, sitting at the fourth spot with no points.

Slovan Bratislava are currently in the third place, having 4 points but the Slovakian team will be looking to win Today’s match in Istanbul to keep their hopes alive for the knockout stage.

Portugal’s Braga currently top Group K with 10 points.

They are followed by English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, which earned 9 points in four matches.

In the Europa League, top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 32.

Jeremain Lens, Dutch midfielder of Besiktas, is suspended for the match against Slovan Bratislava at the Vodafone Park. He was sent off in his team’s previous game against Braga.

Abdullah Avcı and his players will take on Slovan Bratislava at home on Thursday, and the match will start at 8:55 local time (17:55 GMT).
