Election – “Hope all the best for Beşiktaş”

Four names have submitted the necessary documents by coming to the club headquarters at Vodafone Park yesterday, before the deadline. Current vice-president Serdal Adalı, ex-VP Ahmet Nur Çebi, ex-general secretary of the club İsmail Ünal and lastly Hürser Tekinoktay have officially announced that they would be running for club presidency.

Late finalisation

Ahmet Nur Çebi, who was rumoured to have changed his mind about running for the election, completed his application yesterday after consulting his family and friends. Four people will be looking to become the next Beşiktaş chairman and take over huge responsibility at a club that’s heavily burdened by finance.

AHMET NUR ÇEBİ:

I am honoured

Coming to the club premises with ex-board members Emre Kocadağ, Mesut Urgancılar and Erdal Torunoğulları; Çebi said: “An extraordinary general meeting will be conducted. We have tried to prepare in the short amount of time we had. I’m glad to say that me and my friends have completed that’s necessary to run and have submitted everything. I hope the other candidates can maintain their approach as gentlemen as the we go through this process”

‘Thank you for caring about Beşiktaş’

Çebi added: “We will be calling one of us “our chairman” after the elections. It is essential to approach everything with good conduct. I’d like to thank the other candidates for being so willing about taking the hot seat. I shall disclose my future plans to the public soon.”

İSMAİL ÜNAL:

It is nice that we have so many candidates

İsmail Ünal has also submitted his paperwork before the deadline and officially entered the race for the chairman position. Ünal said: “I’m happy that we’re doing this. It is nice that we have so many candidates”

‘Good luck to all of the candidates’

Ünal then added: “We’re known as the ‘students who walk on the path that’s been set by Süleyman Seba’. Taking inspiration from his ethics and teachings, I’ve always said that the race should have been made when we’re not struggling but when we were flourishing.”

SERDAL ADALI:

Good luck to everyone

Another member that was able to collect the necessary amount of signatures was vice-president Serdal Adalı. The famous businessman also came to Vodafone Park to finalise his candidacy.

‘We need to unite’

Adalı said: “I wish the best of luck for my friends that will compete with me in the elections. I hope that this election will be a prosperous, lucky, conductful and nice one. We’re going through tough times and we need to unite. Hope the future will be bright for Beşiktaş.” then added that he will be disclosing his projects and plans with the public soon.

HÜRSER TEKİNOKTAY:

Having already announced his candidacy before, Tekinoktay submitted his documents to the club through his legal representative Aker Çıtak. Çıtak said: “Beşiktaş are going through tough times but we are a big club and we’ll know how to overcome this. We have seen this happen in the past yet we have always managed to break through. No matter what the outcome of the election is, our club will return to its former glory. I hope that.”
