Patrik Berger’s take on Gerrard rumours

Steven Gerrard was rumoured to be a target for Beşiktaş as their current manager Abdullah Avcı was deemed unsuccessful. Gerrard, who is currently managing Scottish club Rangers, was named as the next potential manager of the Black Eagles. His ex-Liverpool teammate Patrik Berger has commented on these exciting rumours.

The Czech, who lined up alongside Gerrard as Liverpool beat Rangers 3-2 in a ‘Legends’ match at Ibrox, said: “I think Steven is already in a massive job here.”

Berger then added: “I don’t think going to Turkey would give him any extra edge or anything better. This is the right place for him. He wouldn’t go there.”

“I don’t know for sure, but in my opinion he is working towards his goal to be Liverpool manager one day.”
