Uysal and Vida will be fielded as centre-backs

Having collected only 8 points with 2 wins in the first 7 fixtures in the league, Beşiktaş will be looking to beat Ankaragücü to make it two for two and be motivated for the derby against Galatasaray. Abdullah Avcı, however, is not having an easy time with his squad selection as many players are out with an injury. It is certain that Dorukhan Toköz, Gökhan Gönül, Georges N’Koudou and Victor Ruiz will miss the game. Oğuzhan Özyakup has not fully recovered yet and Avcı is not planning to field him as he wants to prevent the risk of further injuries. The Turkish midfielder could be named in the substitutes if he feels good during matchday.

Uysal and Vida duo as centre-backs

Manager Abdullah Avcı is expected to pair Necip Uysal and Domagoj Vida in defense as the other centre-back Ruiz will not be able to play. There’s a slim chance that Roco may play as Vida’s partner. Gökhan Gönül, who was injured against Wolves, will be replaced by Douglas. Caner Erkin will be other full-back. With Toköz and Özyakup both injured, Elneny is expected to play in the double pivot with Atiba Hutchinson.
